Privacy policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

This explains what we do with your personal information when you use this site or buy from us. We are the data controller for that information.

Anything you want to ask or exercise: support@powderkeep.com.

Our store runs on Shopify, so Shopify processes a lot of this data on our behalf and in some cases for its own purposes. Their notice is at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy/app-users and their privacy portal is at https://privacy.shopify.com/en.

What we collect

  • Contact and delivery details: your name, email, phone, billing and shipping address.
  • Order details: what you bought, returned or cancelled, and when.
  • Payment confirmation: whether a payment succeeded and the last digits and card type. We never see or store your full card number. That goes straight to the payment processor.
  • Account details if you create one, including your password in hashed form.
  • Messages you send us, including anything you write in a support email.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device type, and which pages you looked at. Mostly through cookies.

We collect this from you directly, automatically as you browse, and from our service providers such as the payment processor and the carrier.

Why we use it

  • To sell you things and get them to you. Taking the order, taking payment, arranging shipping, handling returns and refunds, answering your emails. This is us performing our contract with you.
  • To run and improve the shop. Understanding which pages work and which do not. Our legitimate interest in having a business that functions.
  • Marketing, if you have asked for it. You can unsubscribe from any email we send and we will stop.
  • Fraud prevention and security. Checking that orders and payments are genuine.
  • Legal obligations. Tax and accounting records, and responding to lawful requests.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed, with:

  • Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders.
  • Payment providers, who handle your card details directly.
  • Carriers and fulfilment partners, who need your address to deliver.
  • Email and analytics providers we use to run the shop.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information.

Advertising

We may show you ads based on what you looked at here. If you would rather we did not share your information for that purpose, use the opt-out link in the footer of this site, or email us.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work, and others for analytics and advertising that only run if you accept them. You choose when the banner appears and you can change your mind at any time through the same banner.

International transfers

Your data may be stored or processed outside your own country, including outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Order records for six years, because tax law requires it. Marketing contacts until you unsubscribe. Support emails for as long as they are useful, then we delete them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of what we hold,
  • correct it,
  • delete it,
  • restrict or object to how we use it,
  • send it to another provider,
  • stop using it for marketing, and
  • withdraw consent you gave earlier.

Email support@powderkeep.com and we will answer within one month. We may need to check who you are first. Using these rights costs nothing and we will not treat you differently for it.

Children

This shop is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Complaints

Come to us first, please. If we do not sort it out, you can complain to your data protection regulator. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. In the EEA it is your national authority.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, where it matters, tell you directly.
